I’m So Happy You’re Here.

So, I’m going to go ahead and put it all out there on post one and let’s just get it over with! I have thought about starting this blog for years, ACTUAL years of my life, yet I have always found an excuse not to do it. My friends will make fun of me for being a “blogger”, no one will read what I have to say, people are over a blog about interior design and decor. Maybe it was Covid, maybe it was my second pregnancy, maybe it was turning 30 (it happened 3 months ago and I’m still mourning my 20’s), but this 2022 I’ve decided to take a hobby that holds dear to my heart and spread my skills with those who don’t have a such love for interiors...which is actually a lot more people than I thought.

I am now on my second fixer upper that my husband and I have bought and slowly chipped away at flipping. People often think we are crazy for the homes we purchase and the undertaking that comes with them while parenting 5 children and running a company together, but jokes on them because it’s just all we can afford. ::Insert crying laughing emoji:: But in all seriousness, we like things to look and feel nice, but we aren’t willing to pay top dollar. We are the dream team of a designer chick and a construction guy, and we both thrive on finding quirky sh*t so wee can disguise that quirky sh*t. I am excited to show you the remainder of the projects we have left on this home and how we plan to style them, so buckle up for that journey as well. Don’t worry, I wouldn't let you miss out on all the fun we’ve already completed, so I will be able to show you all that, too.

During my pandemic pregnancy, I also ventured out and got a certificate in Home Staging. It has been so fun learning the differences between staging and decorating/design, but sadly the market is too hot for us stagers right now. Luckily I’ve learned so much and joined a community of such wonderful, helpful people so when home sellers need my help again - I will be running towards them slow-mo with arms wide open. Maybe I’m picturing that Creed song playing softly in the background, or perhaps Sarah Mclaughlin, but that’s besides the point.

While I offer my full services including e-design packages for anyone looking to freshen up their space, home staging for my sellers, and interior styling for those vacay rental hosts, I still plan to post some fun DIYs and easy/budget friendly tips that any of us can do at home…with my guidance of course.

Stay tuned and let’s have some fun!
